Interior Painting
Walls, ceilings, doors and trim, prepared properly and finished clean.
A good interior job is mostly the work you never see. Before any color goes on, the walls get looked at up close: nail pops, hairline cracks, old patches, scuffed trim, stains that will bleed through. Those get handled first, so the finish coat has a sound surface to sit on.
We paint single rooms, full floors and whole houses, in occupied homes and empty ones. You get a written scope that says which rooms and surfaces are included, what preparation is planned, and which finishes go where.
What is included
- Walls and ceilings in living areas, bedrooms, kitchens, baths and hallways
- Interior doors, door frames, baseboards, crown and window trim
- Patching, sanding, caulking and spot priming as listed in your scope
- Stain-blocking primer where water marks or smoke staining are present
- Color and sheen planning, room by room
- Furniture moving and covering as agreed in the walkthrough
Before we start
Tell us which rooms are included, whether the home will be lived in during the work, and whether closets, ceilings and trim are part of the job. Point out cracks, stains and anything that has been repaired before. If a stain came from a leak, the leak needs to be fixed and the area dry before it can be painted.
A good fit for
- Refreshing a home before selling or after buying
- Changing colors in one room or throughout the house
- Getting worn trim, doors and hallways back in shape
- Rental and apartment turnovers
Questions about interior painting
If your question is not here, call (718) 984-0719.
Do I need to empty the rooms before you start?
No. Take out valuables, breakables and anything personal. Larger furniture is usually moved to the center of the room and covered. How furniture is handled is agreed during the walkthrough and written into the scope.
Can you paint while we are living in the house?
Yes. Most interior work happens in occupied homes. We plan which rooms are done in which order, so you always know what is available to use that day.
How many coats does a room need?
It depends on the existing color, the new color and the condition of the surface. A large color change or bare patches usually need primer plus two finish coats. Your estimate states what is planned.
