Inspect before you promise a move-in date
A vacant unit can reveal damage that furniture had hidden. Walk walls, ceilings, doors and trim after the occupant leaves. Note stains, damaged patches and surfaces that need repair. If you arranged an estimate earlier, review any newly visible conditions before the work begins.
List what gets refreshed
Decide whether the work covers every room or only worn areas. Include closets, door frames and ceilings when needed. Small omissions become obvious when a fresh wall sits beside a scuffed door. A written list lets the crew complete the agreed scope without stopping for repeated decisions.
Coordinate the other work
Repairs, cleaning, flooring and painting may need access to the same spaces. Agree on the order with everyone doing the work. Protect completed finishes from later trades, and avoid scheduling a deep clean while preparation is still producing dust in the unit.
Choose finishes with maintenance in mind
Discuss the surfaces that receive regular cleaning and the areas that repeatedly need touch-ups. Keep product and color details for maintenance. Product selection matters alongside sheen; ask the painter to explain the finish proposed for each area rather than assuming one paint suits the entire unit.
Confirm the handover
Agree on when the unit can return to use and which areas need further drying or care. Review the work against the scope before the next occupant arrives. Call Quality Painting with the property location, your surface list and turnover window. We review conditions and scheduling before preparing the estimate.
